Build
The land is already ours. Now it has to be built.
Someone donated the land where the prayer room will stand. That step is done. What is missing is everything that goes on top of it, and much of that is not bought with money: it is contributed with what each person knows how to do.

Why your trade is worth more than your wallet
An architect who hands over the drawings contributes several thousand dollars without spending a cent. An engineer who signs off the structural calculations unlocks the municipal permit. A hardware supplier who provides the steel moves the first phase more than twenty small gifts. And all of them end up tied to the work in a way that giving money alone never achieves.
Where what you know is needed
Ordered the way a build advances. Each area says exactly what is needed, so that in five seconds you know whether this is for you.
Throughout the build
-
On-site work
Site supervision
A professional to review progress, approve payment schedules and answer for quality. This is the contribution that puts every other one in order.
-
On-site work
Site safety
Safety plan, protective equipment and risk control for everyone who sets foot on site.
-
Professional work
Accounting and audit
Keeping the project’s books and reviewing the six-monthly use-of-funds report before it is published.
-
On-site work
Progress photography and video
Recording the build month by month. Without it there is no report to tell and nothing to show those who gave.
-
Materials or equipment
Feeding the crews
Lunch for those working on site. The simplest contribution to give and the most appreciated where it lands.
First phase — structural shell
-
Professional work
Architecture and drawings
Architectural and detail drawings for 200 m² over two floors: prayer hall below, offices and classroom above.
-
Professional work
Structural engineering
Structural calculations and technical report for foundations and slab, under Ecuadorian seismic code.
-
On-site work
Survey and soil study
Topographic survey of the site and soil study prior to foundations.
-
Professional work
Permits and paperwork
Building permit processing with the Municipality of Quito and legal support throughout.
-
Materials or equipment
Foundations and structure
Concrete, steel, formwork and block for foundations, columns and slab. The bulk of the first phase.
Second phase — finishes
-
Professional work
Electrical installation
Design and installation of the electrical system, allowing for audio, live streaming and stage lighting.
-
Professional work
Plumbing and drainage
Design and installation of water supply, drainage and toilets, including an accessible one.
-
Professional work
Hall acoustics
Acoustic treatment for a hall where people sing and pray day and night, without disturbing the neighbourhood.
-
Materials or equipment
Finishes
Plastering, flooring, paint, doors and windows. This is what the second phase consists of.
-
Materials or equipment
Lighting
Lighting for a hall used through the night: warm, dimmable and low consumption.
Third phase — furnishing
-
Materials or equipment
Furniture
Chairs, rugs, lecterns and furniture for the offices and classroom. Third phase.
-
Materials or equipment
Audio and streaming
Mixing desk, microphones, monitors, camera and streaming gear so the prayer reaches the whole country.
-
Materials or equipment
Instruments
Piano, guitars, cajón and percussion for the teams that hold the watches.
How it works
No long paperwork, but with order: a site where everyone does as they please falls further behind than one with no volunteers at all.
-
You write to us
You tell us your trade, which area you can help with and how much time you have. Nothing else.
-
The site manager replies
Within 48 hours, always. They tell you whether your contribution is needed now or later, and which phase it fits.
-
It is agreed in writing
What you deliver, by when and with what scope. An email is enough, but it is written down: that way nobody is left hanging and the build does not stall waiting for something that never came.
The rules of the site
- Every contribution goes through the site manager. Nobody starts working on their own.
- Anyone working on site wears protective equipment under the safety plan. No exceptions, whoever they are.
- High-risk and working-at-height labour is contracted and insured: there, volunteering is not a saving, it is a liability.
- Professional contributions are delivered signed by whoever is legally qualified to sign them.
- No contribution grants any right to decide over the use of the place or over the house.
Offer your contribution
It reaches the site manager directly. They reply within 48 hours, even if only to say your area is not open yet.
Your details are used only to coordinate your contribution. They are not published, not shared, and go into no mailing list.
Not your field, but you know someone whose it is?
A good introduction is worth as much as a contribution. Send us the name and we will write.
